November Changes

  • Saturday, 15th November, 2008
  • 00:00am

For the month of November, Stream101 has made some changes.  These changes are in both the SHOUTcast area as well as the billing area.  Please read through the following announcement, and as always, any questions you may have will be gladly answered through a support ticket.

SHOUTcast Upgrades

  • File Manager Upgrades
    • Allows You To Upload Directly Using The File Manager For Intro & Backup Files
    • Allows You To Rename Files Uploaded To The Auto-DJ System - (Mainly For Spelling Corrections, etc.)
  • Advanced Monitoring
    • You can now view advanced graphics as to the amount of usage your station uses.  The logging has been started as of 9AM Eastern Time on November 15th, 2008.  From this point on, you will be able to view Daily, Weekly, and Monthly reports of the amount of Bandwidth and Listeners your station has in a great, easy to view, graphic.
  • Updated Media Player Link Generator
    • Links will be dynamically generated based on the options you select (Proxy, plus additional options that will be soon available)
  • Messenger Control Update
    • More options have been added to the MSN Messenger Control Bot.  You will be able to Kick the Source of the Stream, Update the Auto-DJ Title, and change the Administrator login password for the SHOUTcast DNAS page.
  • Faster Proxy Streaming
    • We've upgraded the technology to allow the delay between the source of the stream to the listener.  This only affects the people who listen via proxy, as the proxy has to bounce through our servers twice in order to function.
  • Listener Authentication - PENDING
    • We are currently working on our new Listener Authentication feature.  This will allow you to reserve slots for users, or password protect a stream.  This is perfect for selling subscriptions to a radio stream, or protecting your stream for only the people you want to listen.

BILLING CHANGES

  • Client-Only Support
    • We have made a change to the support department.  If you are to submit a support ticket via email, it must be done with an email address associated with your billing account (Ex. Your Main Billing Email.).  This has been done to prevent us helping people who are not clients, which is a disservice to our current clients.
  • Paypal Payments
    • We've given you the option for a one time payment of an invoice, or to put your invoice on a reccuring payment.
  • Credit Card Payments
    • We've added the option to take your credit card directly through us.  We have doubled the security on the billing server to ensure your information is safe.  We have also made only the sections with personal information, or information being communicated between us and you, secure.  This allows the website to load faster, as any website with encryption is slower compared to a non-encrypted website.
